Jeanelle Sugimoto-Matsuda is the Program Manager for the Asian/Pacific Islander Youth Violence Prevention Center. In this capacity she oversees the daily operations of the Center, and also provides oversight for the Center’s administrative, research, and evaluation activities. She received her B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and her M.S. degree in Forensic Sciences from Chaminade University. Her past research positions and employers include: the UHM Botany Department, Cancer Research Center of Hawaii, Straub Clinic & Hospital, and the Hawaii Outcomes Institute. Most recently she published a book chapter for medical students on violence and abuse, and is collaborating on a manuscript based on the evaluation of a high school Ethnic Studies Course. She plans to pursue a PhD, possibly in health/public policy.
