           Faapisa M. Soli who goes by “Pisa” is an Assistant Program Manager (APM) for the APIYVPC.  Pisa began working with the Center in 2007 as an Administrative Assistant then within a year was promoted to Research Associate.  She was promoted once again in May 2009 and she is currently serving in that role as one of the two APM’s for the Center.  Her duties include support of the Center’s research and community-based projects.  She assists in coordinating surveillance efforts, as well as collaborating with several clinical faculty in the preparation of a handbook for health professionals on youth violence issues, and a book chapter on Samoans in Hawaii.  Ms. Soli obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Chaminade University.  She intends to apply to medical school and pursue a career in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
