Jess Kraus, Ph.D.

Dr. Jess Kraus is Director of the Southern California Injury Prevention Research Center (SCIPRC). The mission of the SCIPRC is to develop and support a multidisciplinary academic and community effort with the goal of discovering and understanding patterns of injury occurrence in high-risk populations and controlling the incidence and consequences of these injuries. Dr. Kraus is a Professor of Epidemiology at the University of California—Los Angeles, School of Public Health. His major research interests include injury from environmental and occupational related exposures.

Dr. Kraus has over 200 peer-reviewed publications to his name. Dr. Kraus is referee for the Spine Journal, and he is consulting editor for Safety Science and the International Journal of Environmental Health.

Dr. Kraus received his B.A. in Life Sciences and M.S. in Health Sciences at Sacramento State College, M.P.H. in Occupational Health at the University of California—Berkeley, and Ph.D. in Epidemiology at the University of Minnesota.
