Anthony P. S. Guerrero, M.D., or "Tony," as he is called, is the project child and adolescent psychiatrist for the Asian/Pacific Islander Youth Violence Prevention Center. He is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics, Vice-Chair for Education and Training for the Department of Psychiatry, and Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. He practices general pediatrics and child and adolescent psychiatry. His research interests, in addition to youth violence prevention, include medical education and problem-based learning, Filipino and Pacific Islander mental health, pediatric obsessive-compulsive disorder in Hawaii, and the interface between pediarics and child and adolescent psychiatry. Born in the Philippines and raised mostly in Hawaii, Dr. Guerrero takes pride in having completed all of his education (including college, medical school, and residency) in Hawaii. |
