Daniel Galanis Daniel Galanis, Ph.D.
 
Dr. Daniel Galanis is an Epidemiologist in the Injury Prevention & Control Program (IPCP) at the Hawai‘i State Department of Health. The mission of the IPCP is to provide statewide leadership in preventing death and disability associated with injuries in Hawai‘i. The mission is accomplished by educating, supporting and mobilizing individuals and organizations to incorporate comprehensive injury prevention strategies in their on-going efforts.
 
Dr. Galanis serves as reviewer for a number of journals including ”Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research,” the International Journal of Epidemiology, and the American Journal of Epidemiology. He has published over 15 peer-reviewed journal articles.
 
Dr. Galanis received his B.S. in Nutrition at the University of Arizona, and his Ph.D. in Nutrition at Cornell University with Minors in Epidemiology and International Nutrition.
