Communication and dissemination of
community-related activities and community-based audiences are important goals
of the APIYVPC. These efforts have resulted in greater
community awareness of the issues surrounding Asian/Pacific Islander youth
violence, program changes, and successful grant awards.
The following are some of the brochures, reports, and scientific publications related to this efforts:

As one specific example, one of the central
youth violence prevention efforts that Kailua High School (KHS) implemented in
partnership with the APIYVPC was the
newly developed after-school Ethnic Studies Class. In order to disseminate information on how
theEthnicStudies Class was developed and some of the class’s
teaching techniques, a number of important presentations took place in 2005. In
December of 2006, Ms. Glassco and Ms. Strong, KHS Teachers, took the entire
group of 11 KHS Ethnic Studies students to Hamilton, New Zealand
where they presented at the World Indigenous People’s Conference on Education.
